Run by a player. Not part of Torn.
Lend a Public key
A Public Only key is the weakest key Torn makes: it reads only what any player can already see, and it can change nothing.
1
Make a new key on Torn's own API keys page, with access level Public Only.
Make the key in TornTorn opens in a new tab. Give the key any name, choose Public Only, press Create, then copy it.
2
Paste it here.
What your key is used for
- What your key does
- Our server uses it to read public Torn data, the kind any player can look up, to keep our own tools up to date.
- What it can see of you
- Your Torn name and ID, so we know whose key it is. Nothing else: a Public Only key cannot read your items, money, log or messages, and we refuse any stronger key.
- What it costs you
- Up to 30 of your 100 requests a minute, day and night. If Torn ever answers "too many requests" on your key, we slow down.
- How to leave
- Paste the key under "Remove my key": it is taken out at once, with everything held for it. Or delete the key in Torn: the server takes it out the next time it would have used it.
Torn's table for tools that take a key
| Data storage | Persistent, until you remove the key: the key, your Torn name and ID, and a count of the requests made with it. After that, one line in the owner's log says you joined and left. |
|---|---|
| Data sharing | Service owners. |
| Purpose of use | Competitive advantage: public game data for our own tools. |
| Key storage and sharing | Stored, used only for automation. Never shown again, not even part of it. |
| Key access level | Public Only. |
Remove my key
Paste the key you handed in. It is deleted at once, with everything held for it.
